Trucking & Drayage

We move containers at Port Tampa Bay, PortMiami, and Port Everglades — with our own trucks, not third-party carriers.

We Own Our Trucks.

Most freight forwarders and shipping agents coordinate third-party drivers for container moves. We don’t. VSI runs its own trucks and drivers at Florida’s major ports. That means one less handoff, one less unknown, and faster, more reliable container moves.

In-House Fleet
No Middleman on the Truck Leg.

When you book drayage with VSI, our driver picks up your container. Not a subcontractor we called that morning — our driver, in our truck.

Direct accountability — one company, one call
Consistent drivers who know our port procedures
Faster scheduling — no third-party availability gaps
We also move our Haiti-bound containers to port ourselves

What Is Drayage?

Drayage is the short-distance trucking move that connects a container between the port and its next stop — your warehouse, your customer, or another terminal. It’s the critical “first mile” and “last mile” of container freight, and it’s often where delays happen if the trucking isn’t controlled.

Port Pickup

We go to the port, pick up your import container, and deliver it to your facility, warehouse, or distribution point.

Port Delivery

We pick up your loaded export container from your location and deliver it to the port for export processing — including Haiti-bound shipments.

Empty Container Drop & Load

We drop an empty container at your location so you can load at your pace, then return to collect it when you’re ready for export.

Empty Container Returns

After your container is unloaded, we handle the empty return to the port or container depot on your behalf.

FCL Transport

Full container load moves between ports, terminals, and facilities. We haul 20 ft, 40 ft, and 45 ft containers.

Regional Freight

Beyond port drayage — we also move commercial freight regionally across Florida for shippers and importers.

Three Florida Ports. One Company.

We operate at all three of Florida’s major container ports. Book drayage at any of them.

Trucking & Drayage — Common Questions

We own our trucks and employ our own drivers. This is a key differentiator from most freight forwarders and shipping agents, who coordinate third-party carriers for the drayage leg. With VSI, one company is responsible from booking to delivery.

We haul 20 ft, 40 ft, and 45 ft ISO containers. If you have a non-standard container or special freight requirement, call us to discuss.

Call us at (813) 264-6531 or WhatsApp us. Provide the port, container size, pickup/delivery address, and your timeline. We’ll confirm availability and pricing.

Yes — this is a core part of our model. When you ship a container to Haiti through VSI, we handle the truck move to port ourselves. You don’t need to coordinate a separate drayage carrier. We move your container on both ends.
